About Terracelt
Terracelt is a partnership between the Farmers Union of Wales (FUW) and Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers’ Association (ICSA). Terracelt is an exciting and innovative development designed to provide a comprehensive service for the agricultural and rural communities in Wales and Ireland by using the latest techniques in information technology and is funded by INTERREG.
The Terracelt website is still in the development stage, which is why there is still a lot of content to be added. The first phase is the launch at the Royal Welsh Show, which sees the website going live. The full website will be ready for the Irish National Ploughing Championships. By that stage there will be many new sections including video and other exciting content.
Our aim is to provide a comprehensive and sophisticated web portal that will be the first port of call for anyone who is concerned with rural and agricultural affairs in the INTERREG area; but to also reach out to those from the urban areas of the region, for the purposes of information, e-commerce and education.
IRISH CATTLE & SHEEP FARMERS’ ASSOCIATION
ICSA - the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers’ Association- is a specialist, independent representative organisation for farmers who produce quality beef and lamb. It lobbies on their behalf on a range of agriculture and rural development issues at local, national and EU level. The organisation has grown steadily in recent years and now as over 10,000 members.
FARMERS UNION OF WALES
The Farmers’ Union of Wales has one basic aim - to protect and advance the interests of those who derive an income from Welsh agriculture.
The FUW is an independent Union which values the freedom to run its own affairs. It can advance the views of farmers in Wales without fear or favour, unfettered by sectional interests.
Established in 1955, the FUW has been given the official right by the Government to represent and speak on behalf of Welsh farmers. The Union has done so at the highest level - at the National Assembly, Whitehall and Brussels.
